Dining TablesHand-made, Antique Reproduction TablesDungan-Tingley Chair Works offers six hand-made dining tables: Porringer, Harvest, Farm, Tavern and Pub. They are all made from select tiger maple, wormy maple and birdseye maple. We chose those wood types for their beauty and durability to ensure that you receive a long lasting, quality product that your family or business will enjoy for years to come.We offer various table and leg styles as well as extensions so you may select the table that best fits your needs. We can give you recommendations on styles and colors to fit the décor of your restaurant, bed & breakfast or private residence. Our tables can be extended using a traditional extension called a company board. A company board is a 14 inch extension added to both ends of a dining table so that you can accommodate guests. They are sold as a pair. The standard sizes and prices are the same for the Porringer, Harvest, Farm and Tavern dining tables. (Birdseye maple is 10% more) Porringer TablesPorringer tables are so named because the rounded corners resemble the colonial porringer dish. The rounded detail is carved and scraped by hand. Most of our customers request a stained top with a black painted base. The legs on the stained bases are made of maple, although tiger maple legs are also available. The photo shows a 36 x 72 stained porringer table with a Dutch leg.
Width increases are $200 more per 2" of width. Two 14" company boards are available for $375/pair. Harvest TablesThe tiger maple Harvest table is our most popular style, with a tiger maple top and legs. Cherry is also available. Standard sizes are:

Tavern TableThe Tavern table is the term used here in America for plain country-made rectangular tables with turned legs and extra support at both ends and a "stretcher" in between , based on designs mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries. The traditional tavern table has a stretcher base, forming an "H" beneath the table as shown in the photos. Standard sizes are:
Pub TablePub, or bar tables, are increasing in popularity because they can provide a smaller, more intimate dining area. Their typical height is 42”, accommodating a 30” bar stool. A 32” square table will seat two people comfortably for light meals or snacks. Our pub tables are made to order and are $995. Please contact us to discuss your needs. |
